The Edo State Government has suspended the collection of revenue from transporters over coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Osarodion Ogie, gave the directive in a statement on Thursday.
Ogie explained that this was to enable commercial transport operators in the state to comply with directives on the number of passengers per vehicle.
He, however, stressed that all restrictions pertaining to coronavirus have not been lifted.
The SGG said the security agencies have been directed to ensure strict compliance to the set directives.
Following this development, transporters in the state can now breathe a sigh of relief at least for the month of April.
