The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Adamawa State has trained and deployed 300 personnel across the state to sensitise and enforce compliance with directives issued by government.
Speaking to journalists at the Command Headquarters in Yola, the state capital, NSCDC Commandant, Abdullahi Nurudeen, said that aside sensitising the personnel, the Command will ensure enforcement of the social restriction put in place by the state in response to COVID-19 emergency.

While advising members of the public to always imbibe the culture of personal hygiene, Nurudeen revealed that his personnel had dispensed a group of people who gathered for a wedding.
The personnel are drawn from crises management Department, Divisional Offices and Area Commands.
They are to engage in daily surveillance, enforcement of social restrictions and response to coronavirus emergencies.
Nurudeen explained that the NSCDC personnel are on 24-hour duty and will collaborate with state health officials, State Task Force against the spread of coronavirus as well as other security agencies in the state.
