Six more patients of coronavirus (COVID-19) have recovered from the disease in Lagos.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced this on Monday via his verified Twitter handle.

According to him, the persons – one female and five males – were discharged from the Infectious Disease Centre in Yaba earlier before his tweet.

Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the persons were released to reunite with their families following their full recovery and testing negative twice to COVID-19.

“This good news brings the number of patients who have been managed and discharged from our facilities to 61,” he said.

The governor described the recent success as an indication of the state government’s resolve to win in the war against coronavirus.

He, however, said they would not be deterred until they achieve the goal and thanked the residents for their perseverance at this critical time.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urged residents to continue to observe the measures to curb the spread of the disease, stressing that their sacrifice would not be in vain.
