Aisha Buhari Commends Former First Ladies For Making Donations In Fight Against COVID-19

 

First Lady Aisha Buhari on Thursday posted a goodwill message on her social media handles appreciating former first ladies for their support to Nigeria’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

She appreciated the former first ladies, which include the immediate past, Patience Jonathan for donating essential items including an isolation center, PPEs and medications.

She added that the donated items will be utilised and distributed appropriately.

“I would like to express my appreciation to all those who responded to our call through my GET INVOLVED INITIATIVE to contribute towards the fight against COVID-19.

“I thank Nigerians particularly all Former First Ladies for their Goodwill and some contributions in kind especially Dame Patience Jonathan for willingly releasing her hospital that’s in court but still under her possession to be used as a COVID-19 isolation center TEMPORARILY.

“All the donated items including hospital beds, bedsheets, Personal Protective Equipment-PPE and medications will be distributed immediately to centres where they will be utilized appropriately. It is my ernest prayers for the end of this global pandemic,” she said.
Cases of the novel coronavirus is on the rise, daily in Nigeria. According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is on the rise with a total number of 873 cases recorded as at April 22, 2020.
