At the same time, thousands of staff at Google's European headquarters in Ireland were told to stay away for the day after one employee reported flu-like symptoms. The outbreak has spread across the world since emerging in central China late last year, killing more than 3,100 people, infecting over 90,000, and prompting a wave of travel restrictions. Twitter is rolling out a new threaded view on iOS and the Web. It will clearly show which reply was meant for which other reply so you will know how the conversation is flowing.

In a tweet Tuesday, the company said, “Some of you on iOS and web will see a new layout for replies with lines and indentations that make it clearer who is talking to whom and to fit more of the convo in one view.”

Twitter also said it’s experimenting with the way its icons are displayed.

“We’re also experimenting with placing like Retweet and reply icons behind a tap for replies. We’re trying this with a small group on iOS and web to see how it affects following and engaging with a convo,” the tech company said.

“With all due respect, it’s horrendous,” one commenter said. “All you’ve done is make it about 1000x harder to read and follow,” tweeted another user. I’ve scrolled pretty far down and haven’t encountered a single positive reply. Maybe we just need a few more options, Twitter?

The change comes just a day after Twitter announced it’s testing a feature that would give users an option to remove swear words, it will ask you whether you want to revise your text, just in case you need to pause and take a deep breath.

Twitter will do this by scanning your reply to see if it contains potentially harmful language.
