Ninety-five people have recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19) in Oyo State – the highest figure so far to recover at a time in the state.
Governor Seyi Makinde announced this via his Twitter handle on Saturday while giving an update on the outbreak of the disease in the state.
He explained that the recovered persons were discharged from the government’s facility after their second COVID-19 test results came out negative.
According to the governor, who is also the head of COVID-19 Taskforce in Oyo state, this brings the total number of COVID-19 patients discharged in the state to 271.
He, however, disclosed that the results of the confirmation test for 35 suspected cases of COVID-19 in the state came back positive.
Governor Makinde added that the new cases were reported from nine local government areas of the state.
They include Ido (seven), Ibadan South-West (five), Ibadan North (five), Ibadan North-West (five), Oluyole (three), Ibadan North East (three), Ibadan South East (three), Egbeda (three), and Ogbomosho North (one).
