Laboratory analysis of suspected COVID-19 samples has begun at the specialist hospital and diagnostic center in Umuahia, the In Abia State capital.
This followed the nod given to the center by the NCDC after the inspection of the facility last weekend by a team from the agency.
The NCDC team also trained the staff of the laboratory and supervised the analysis of the initial test samples with results said to have tallied with that obtained at the agency’s facility in Abuja.
