Over one million people applied for the Federal Government’s social investment scheme, N-Power, in two days, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, has said. 

Mrs Farouq noted this in a series of tweets on her official handle on Sunday night while giving an update about the N-Power scheme in the country.

According to her, since the online portal for the registration of N-Power 2020 Batch C intakes opened on June 26th, Nigerians have responded positively by applying.

“I am happy to announce that young and eligible Nigerians responded positively and have been applying as expected,” she said..

“The portal has been registering about 100 applications per second and as at 7:38 pm, we had received 1,001,045 applications.”

N-Power which was launched in 2016, is expected to absorb 400,000 fresh beneficiaries into the scheme after the exit of the Batch A on June 30, 2020 and Batch B on July 31, 2020.
