Taraba Governor Mourns NLC State Chairman, Describes His Death As Devastating

Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has mourned with the family of the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Reverend Peter Gambo.

The state governor said the news of the late Rev was devastating, describing the role he played as a vital one in Taraba and a strategic partner of the government in the development of the state.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Bala Abu, Governor said that the late NLC leader “was one labour leader who administered the union with the fear of God and a genuine determination to significantly improve the welfare of workers”.

He urged workers in the state and the family of the late labour leader to take solace in the fact that Gambo served the entire Nigerian labour family meritoriously and left an unblemished legacy of loyalty and honesty.

The late Comrade died after a brief illness at the Taraba State Specialist Hospital Jalingo, on Wednesday night.

Until his demise, he was serving his second tenure in office as the Chairman of the NLC.

Gambo was also the General Overseer of the Jesus Glorious Army International Church, Taraba State – a position he took over after a car crash that claimed the life of the previous General Overseer.
