Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Wednesday visited the Nigerian Army Super Camp at Faskari in Katsina state as part of the collaboration between the state and the military in the fight against banditry and other related crimes in the northwest zone.
The Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello also visited the camp on Wednesday.
During the visit, Governor El-Rufai was received by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai.
He later received briefings from the Army chief and other field commanders on the successes recorded so far by troops, and also other areas of collaboration with States.
After the briefing, Governor El-Rufai thanked the Nigerian Army for their untiring effort in the fight against banditry in the northwest zone and pledged the support of the Kaduna state government in the operation.
He also assured to support the military towards finding peace in Kaduna state and the northwest in general.
Operation Sanity with its headquarters at Fasakari in Katsina state is a Nigerian Army operation in the northwest zone aimed at getting rid of bandits and other criminal elements in the zone and Niger State.
