The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has revealed plans on how his administration will tackle the security challenges in the state.
The governor disclosed that the state government is looking at the reintroduction of the village security system, community council, and district head councils, especially in critical areas.
Speaking during a meeting with the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero on Wednesday, Governor Masari noted that power without authority cannot function.
He described education and wisdom as the best tools to be applied in this present-day, adding that the world has turned into a global village that can help in addressing insecurity, raping among other associated crimes.
“There was a time when we had a local system where ward and village heads were something. Suddenly as a result of reforms, wards, and village heads and to some extent the district heads have lost authority.
“Power without authority cannot function, you can’t give someone responsibility and deny him authority. The Katsina-Kano relationship has been in existence for over 200 years”, he said.
On his part, Emir Bayero commended the efforts of the governor in executing laudable projects aimed at improving the lives of the common man in the state.
He however asked the beneficiaries to continue supporting the policies of the state government.
