The Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi has sworn newly elected local government chairmen in the state.

The Swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, the state capital.

The event had in attendance security chiefs, government officials, traditional rulers and stakeholders.

Governor Umahi while swearing-in the 13 LGA chairmen urged them to render their services to the people, noting that their legacies will speak for them when they leave the office.

He stated that the local government election conducted last Saturday was violent free and peaceful.

While commending the outgoing Transition Caretaker Committee Chairmen, Governor Umahi emphasised on the sacrifices they have made in their different local government areas, especially during the hit of COVID-19 pandemic.
