Gunmen Kill One, Abduct Businessman In Ekiti

Gunmen on Tuesday shot one person dead and kidnapped a palm oil factory owner, Jide Ijadare along Ilupeju-Ijan road in Ekiti State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident to Channels Television though he could not confirm the identity of the person killed by the gunmen.

Some eyewitnesses, however, claimed it was a Corps member and he constantly visits for supervision.

According to the Police, a team has been mobilised to comb strategic places so as find the abducted person and arrest the abductors.

The incident is coming a day after some gunmen also assassinated a Director with the Local Government Service Commission in Ekiti State, Mr David Jejelowo.
