The people of Edo State on Saturday stormed various polling units to elect the candidate of their choice in the governorship election.
The exercise is ongoing across all 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
Channels Television visited the Polling Unit at Emokpae Model Primary School in Oredo Local Government Area of the state.
This polling unit, which has 10 polling booths, is located in Benin City.
Security officials arrived early at the venue, while officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) came at about 7:30am with the sensitive materials.

Although voting was expected to commence at 8:30am, the exercise was delayed for about 30 minutes.
This was as a result of the preparation by electoral officials to ensure that COVID-19 protocols were observed at the venue.
The directive of ‘no face mask, no vote’ was strictly observed as some electorate were given face masks by a health official at the entrance of the venue.
Similarly, voters’ temperature was checked while they were given hand sanitiser before proceeding to the polling booth.
However, the social distancing protocol was not fully adhered to due to the huge crowd at the venue of the election.
As of 10am, began peacefully, although there was a pocket of disagreement among political party agents.
