Incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki is maintaining his commanding lead Sunday morning as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the results of polls conducted across the state on Saturday.
With results from 17 of the 18 local governments in the state already collated and announced, Obaseki leads his closest challenger the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, with over 80 thousand votes.
A quick summation of the votes awarded to Obaseki in 17 local governments stands at 295,296, while Ize-Iyamu’s was 212,983.
