Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has admonished public office holders to live a righteous life worthy of emulation even after they might have retired from service or dead.

The former president gave the admonition when he paid a condolence visit to Zaria over the death of late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris who died on Sunday.

Obasanjo’s visit coincided with the 3 days prayer of the late traditional ruler, which was attended by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, traditional rules, and other dignitaries.

Describing the late Emir of Zazzau as a bridge-builder and a symbol of unity during his reign, advises those occupying leadership positions to use them to promote peace and unity of the country as exemplified by the late Zazzau emir.

On his part, Governor Nasir El-Rufai says that the deceased king was a man who stood for truth and contributed immensely in resolving conflicts in Kaduna State and the country at large.
