Eight persons have been killed and six others injured following an accident along Wudil-Bauchi Expressway in Kano State.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano, Zubairu Mato confirmed the incident to Channels Television.
He linked the accident to over-speeding and dangerous driving, noting that the victims who died were male adults while six others were injured and another six escaped unhurt.
“We received a call on December 3rd and we quickly dispatched our personnel and vehicles to the scene of the incident to rescue the victims at about 9:50 AM, but on arrival, we discovered some were already dead”.
He said the victims were taken to Garko General Hospital in Kano, where the doctor on duty confirmed the death of eight.
The commander appealed to motorists to obey traffic regulations and drive carefully to minimise road accidents.
