Two persons have been killed in a reprisal attack by a cult gang in Akungba-Akoko area of Ondo State.
The incident occurred last Saturday when a young man named Babatunde Adeluka Olubasa was shot dead at the premises of a hotel in Ijapo Estate area of Akure.
The attack on the man led to the killing of two persons which has caused panic in the area, thereby residents now live in fear.
The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the murder cases to Channels Television in a telephone conversation.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami has ordered a detailed investigation into the incidents.
He added that security has been beefed up in Akungba-Akoko and its environs.
He further appealed to the residents of the state to report to the police when they notice anyone suspected to be criminally-minded.
