A former lawmaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly Abdulmumuni Hassan Ningi has been kidnapped.

The former lawmaker was kidnapped on Thursday around 8 pm at his residence in Bauchi metropolis located behind BSADP along Isa Yuguda Guest House.

A family member narrated to Channels Television that the incident occurred when the lawmaker returned home from work and his son opened the gate for him at which he was immediately pointed a gun at by gunmen and whisked away while his son watched.

The kidnappers were also said to have left with the key to his car and the family believed that they did that to prevent being followed.

The Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Wakili confirmed the incident and said the abductors are believed to be four in number and came in a red golf car.

The Police command PRO suspected that the lawmaker was being trailed right from his shop to his house.

He urged members of the public to vigilant and security conscious.

As of 4 pm Friday, the kidnappers are yet to make contact with the family.
