The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has received drugs, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), and other medical supplies worth N315m, targetted at treating the vulnerable and poor residents in the state.
The equipment was donated on Thursday by the Foreign Common Wealth Development Office through the Lafiya Programme supported by the UKAID.
Governor Masari said the drugs will be used for free treatment of patients attending public health facilities across the 34 LGAs of the state.
He called on chairmen of the hospital/village development committees, hospital community and other relevant stakeholders to continue to educate their people on the need to avail themselves of this laudable opportunity in order to improve their health and well-being.
He noted that it will fast-track the government’s sojourn towards the attainment of universal health coverage and improve the productivity of its people.
The drugs and medical supplies include drugs for Malaria and treatment of some ailments in Children procured by the government through the State Ministry of Health and Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
