The Cross River Police Command has paraded 10 suspected criminals disturbing the peace of the state.
The new CP while parading them during a news conference pledged to protect the lives and properties of residents in line with the mandate of the Police by adopting results-yielding approaches to fight crime in the state.
CP Akande who assumed office recently promised to add value to what his predecessor had done.
He warned the officers and men against extortion, vowing to deal with anyone caught.
He stressed that patrols to hinterlands would be strengthened to protect areas that were vulnerable to crime.
The CP had earlier on visited the State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade at the Governor’s lodge where he emphasised the need to re-strategies mechanisms to checkmate crimes is paramount to ensure social and economic development.
The new Commissioner resumption follows the death of the former CP Jimoh Ibrahim who died on Friday, December 18th, 2020, months after his appointment as Commissioner.
The new CP Kayode Akande is among the recently promoted Commissioners of police in the country and was deployed to Cross River from Ogun State.
