At least three suspected armed bandits terrorising Dutsima Local Government Area of Katsina State have been killed by the Police in the state.

In the process, two AK 47 Rifles with 15 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition have been recovered.

This is coming as the command showcases its recent achievements it recorded in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and other forms of crimes and criminality in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba in a press briefing at the command headquarters, Katsina disclosed that the success was recorded yesterday at about 2100 hours.

He said the Area Commander of Dutsima, Aminu Umar, and his team responded to a distress call that Bandits numbering over 50 riding on motorbikes shooting sporadically with AK 47 Rifles attacked Unguwar Bera and Tashar Mangoro villages of Dutsima Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“The team laid an ambush against the hoodlums at a spot between Mara and Tashar Gajere villages of Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.

“Fortunately, the Bandits were entrapped and the team had an upper hand, neutralised three Bandits and recovered two AK 47 Rifles with fifteen rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

“Search parties are still combing the environs with a view of arresting injured bandits and recovering dead bodies and their operational weapons.

“The command has been recording tremendous successes in the ongoing onslaught against banditry”.
