According to reports from the field officers, there were suspected cases from Kano where egg merchants must have imported the virus through materials such as crates used for the buying and selling of eggs.

It was confirmed that the owner of one of the affected farms has links with egg merchants in kano.

The veterinary officer assured that the department is taking care of the situation and will ensure that the disease is contained as to avoid a spread beyond the four farms affected.
