Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has revalidated his membership with the All Progressive Congress (APC) as directed by the national caretaker committee of the party.

El-Rufai, accompanied by his Deputy, Hadiza Balarabe, state, and national Assembly members, and other top government and party officials, revalidated their membership card at his Ungwar Sariki polling unit in Kaduna North local government.

Although the Governor did not make any statement after completing the registration process, the deputy Governor lauded the process and urges all and intending members of the party to ensure they participate in the exercise.

Other APC leaders including the Speaker of the Kaduna state House of Assembly and the Senator representing Kaduna central, Uba Sani also registered at their various polling units at Rigachikun and Kawo respectively.

While they described the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise as a step in the right direction towards repositioning the party for greater heights, Senator Sani notes that the membership registration will further democratise the APC and enable all eligible members to assume ownership of the party, instead of a few people deciding how the party should be administered.

The APC leaders were also optimistic that at the end of the ongoing registration and revalidation, over two million new members would have joined the party.

Speaking on the future success of the APC in Kaduna state to retain power in 2023, the leaders said that despite the Security challenges confronting some parts of Kaduna state, the achievements of the present administration in the state in the last five years, has made it to win the hearts of many citizens of the state.
