The trial of Omoyele Sowore and four others has commenced at the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja.
All five of them are standing trial for criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and inciting the public.
Sowore showed up in court on Tuesday alongside his spiritual adviser who was clad in a red and black striped attires as well as cowries.

Sowore had in a tweet called for a December 31 crossover protest, asking Nigerians to pick up a candle and a placard showing their grievances against the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
He and others later staged the protest, an action that led to their arrest by security operatives.
