The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of a lecturer and student of the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, Edo State.

In a statement by the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello, says the “Edo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the kidnap of one Uzoaku Onyemabi ‘m’ aged 38 years a staff of the Institute, and one Elizabeth Ayim ‘f’ 24 years, a student old of National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, Edo State.

“The incident occurred on the 10th March 2020 along Ugboha Road, Uromi, Edo State where the two of them went to inspect the ongoing examination at their new school under construction.

“Five armed men appeared from a thick forest behind the school and kidnapped two of them. The Command is working round the clock to ensure that the victims are set free unharmed.”

He noted that the Commissioner of Police has assured the family of the victims that the Command will do all within its power to get them set free from their abductors.

“The school is located in an isolated area with a lot of tick forests around it”.

He also enjoined members of the general public to cooperate with the Police by giving credible information that will expose those behind these heinous crimes.

He promised to work with the public as policing is not only for the force but concerns everybody.

He further advised members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation, as the Police Command under his watch is on top of the situation.
