The spokesperson of the State Police Command Mohammed Shehu made this known while addressing newsmen at the police headquarters in Gusau town the state capital on Friday.

The Katsina Police Command has ordered the ban of the annual Tashe festival activities in the state which is due to security reasons.

In a statement by the spokesman of the command, SP Gambo Isah, ” It has been observed that unscrupulous criminal elements otherwise known as “KAURAYE” are taking advantage of the season to perpetrate their heinous crimes such as armed robbery, extortion, housebreaking, and theft.

“In view of this, the Command hereby warned all parents to look after their wards as any person found disguising under TASHE to commit a crime will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the extant laws of the state”.

SP Isah noted that the Commissioner of Police Katsina state Command, CP Sanusi Buba, psc, felicitates with the good people of the state on this auspicious holy month of Ramadan and urges them to always cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious person (s) to security agencies.

KATSINA STATE POLICE COMMAND BAN TRADITIONAL RAMADAN TASHE FESTIVAL

This is to inform the general public that Katsina state Police Command has banned the annual Ramadan TASHE festival activities in the state due to security reasons. It has been observed that unscrupulous criminal elements otherwise known as “KAURAYE” are taking advantage of the season to perpetuate their heinous crimes such as armed robbery, extortion, housebreaking, and theft.

2. In view of this, the Command hereby warned all parents to look after their wards as any person found disguising under TASHE to commit a crime will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the extant laws of the state.
