The Ebonyi State Government has imposed a curfew on all border communities in the state.
This is in a bid to ensure maximum security of residents of the state.
The decision was reached at an emergency Security Council meeting held on Wednesday at the Government House Abakaliki, the state capital.
Briefing journalists after the meeting Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi disclosed that resolutions reached are aimed at protecting every citizen resident in the state.
Recent security breakdown in parts of the state has led to the death of several persons which prompted the state government to take some measures to stop the ugly trend.
These include the deployment of security personnel to troubled spots and the provision of equipment used in combating crime.
In attendance are representatives of the Nigerian Army, the police, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), to proffer solutions and see more practical ways of solving the problem.
