Jigawa State Governor Badaru Abubakar has raised an alarm over insecurity in Neighboring states of Yobe, Bauchi, and Katsina.
The Governor stated this after an emergency security meeting held at the Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall in Dutse the state capital.
According to the Governor, people must be vigilant and prayerful in order for peace to reign in the state and the country at large.
“The meeting was about the security issue around the country. We believe everybody has to gear up and be vigilant and pray for God’s intervention to keep the country and Jigawa safe,” Badaru said.
Similarly, the Commissioner of Police in the state CP Usman Gomna said the police have received intelligence of influx of people, especially in Gwaram area.
He however said, the police have profiled all of the people in the new settlements and ensures that they are safe and do not mean any harm.
“We have received some distress calls from Gwaram Local Government Area over some Fulani moving into some parts of the area.
“But fortunately, we investigated and profiled all of them and we assure the general public that they are not here to harm anyone.” The Commissioner said.
