Nigeria Firmly Committed To Assisting Sierra Leone – Ambassador

Nigeria's Ambassador to Sierra Leone Henry Omaku has restated President Muhammadu Buhari's firm commitment in assisting Sierra Leone.


 

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Sierra Leone Henry Omaku has restated President Muhammadu Buhari’s firm commitment in assisting Sierra Leone.

He restated the commitment when he presented his letter of credence to President Julius Maada Bio on Friday in the Country’s capital, Freetown.

Mr Omaku reiterated the relationship that both countries have and assured to sustain it in their interest.

“Sierra Leone and Nigeria have an excellent relation from time immemorial – Talking about culture and historical antecedence. On this premise, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari has mandated me as his special envoy to you, to ensure that these relations are not only sustained but must be taken to a greater height as well as to improve the interest of our countries. Mr. President, with all assurances that with your assistance, guidance and God’s grace our cordial relation will not only be sustained but will also be strengthened to a mutually enviable height,” Omaku said.

Nigeria’s high commissioner who felicitated with President Julius over his country’s 60th anniversary, offered himself to be a part of its nation-building policies.

In reaction, President Julius said his country remains indebted to Nigeria for its support which centres on peacebuilding, health and Education.

He emphasized the big brother roles played by Nigeria which he noted cannot be forgotten and promised to uphold existing ties.
