UK, Kaduna Govt Sign Accountability Framework For Socio-Economic Development

The Kaduna State Government and the United Kingdom have signed a six-month Mutual Accountability Framework (JiMAF), a blueprint for socio-economic development covering economic transformation, governance, health, education and social protection.

The Kaduna State Government and the United Kingdom have signed a six-month Mutual Accountability Framework (JiMAF), a blueprint for socio-economic development covering economic transformation, governance, health, education and social protection.

The British High Commission to Nigeria Development Director, Christopher Pycroft, and the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, held strategic talks on Wednesday to finalise modalities on the mutual accountability framework, with both parties setting out their commitments and finding ways to hold each other mutually accountable.

Speaking at the meeting, Christopher Pycroft stated that the strategic agreement will focus on a range of issues, including health, economy, education with a view to driving development in Kaduna state.

He also noted that the British government under the programme has invested over N100 million pounds since 2015 till date.

Pycroft added that the mutual accountability commitments in Kaduna State will also focus on public expenditure and management of revenue which will afford them the opportunity to do more for the state.
