The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has vowed to tackle illegal bunkering in Rivers State following a fire incident that destroyed several exhibits in a dump in the state.

The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, stated this during an inspection of the ruined site along the Port Harcourt – Aba Expressway in Iriebe community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The dump is jointly used by the NSCDC and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to keep confiscated items, like cars, tankers, boats, and petroleum products seized, especially from suspected oil thieves and illegal crude oil refiners.
