President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the immediate re-deployment of Mohammed Abdullahi as the new Minister of Environment.
Abdullahi, until his redeployment, was the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation.

“The President hopes that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment for the growth of the country,” a statement signed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said.
Abdullahi replaces Dr. Muhammad Abubakar, who was redeployed as Minister of Agriculture in September.
The Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, had acted as substantive minister until Abdullahi’s redeployment.
