Top ranking members of the Katsina State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) on Wednesday robed minds with the immediate former Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mustapha Muhammad, at his campaign office in the state capital.

The team in a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, which is coming less than a week before the commencement of 2023 electioneering campaigns, discussed Katsina and the way forward for Katsina as a state and its people.

After the closed doors, the team led by the gubernatorial candidate of the NNPP, Engr Muhammad Nura Khalil, his running mate, Dr Muttaka Rabe Darma as well as the state NNPP Chairman, Hon. Sani Liti among others discussed several areas that require urgent attention by whichever administration succeeds the Governor Aminu Masari-led administration.

According to the gubernatorial candidate of the NNPP, Engr Muhammad Nura Khalil, the aim was to ensure that the state is moved forward and be put in the pedestrian that other states will try to enact whatever the team intends to do for the betterment of people in the state.

Khalil further described Inuwa as the most valuable, dependable, and promising politician amongst his peers in the state.

“We are here to visit our elder in all respect politically, administratively and all other areas of human endeavors to discuss Katsina and the way forward for Katsina as a state and its people,” he said.

On his part, the former Secretary to the Katsina State Government and former governorship aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa acknowledged the visit and the honor done to him by the team.

He described their visit as something that all should appreciate in which people with different political leanings and understanding come together and discuss a common problem.

He believed that if leaders can bury their differences and come together, the followers will definitely take it up hence politicians and their supporters will continue to have peace and political development, particularly during the electioneering campaigns and elections.

“Meetings of this nature will go a long way in ensuring peaceful conduct of elections.

“You can not doubt the exposure, capacity, and qualifications of this team and their wealth of experience in governance is another aspect that one can’t play with.

“So we pledged to continue to discuss and see what is the best for the State,” he added.

It could be recalled that Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa lost the APC gubernatorial primary to Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda among the other seven aspirants who contested for the Katsina State governorship seat for the 2023 general elections.
