The Delta State Commissioner of Police Ali Mohammed has condemned the destruction of assets by some protesting youths in the state.
The angry youths had staged a protest against the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in at Otovwodo Ughelli and Effurun towns in Delta.
The youths set ablaze over 12 trucks laden with petroleum products and granites at Otovwodo axis.
The riot claimed one life, left two critically injured, and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
The commissioner of police, who spoke to journalists after he inspected the level of destruction at the scene of the protest, condemned the action of the angry youths.

The atmosphere is still tense as pedestrians are seen raising their hands as they walk across the area in order to prevent any form of security breach.
So far, about 16 suspects have been arrested in connection with the protest.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Government has called for calm as investigations have begun.
