The police in Sokoto have arrested two suspected kidnappers in the North-Western state.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Gumel, the suspects were involved in the kidnapping of a seven-year-old boy and received N4 million before releasing him to his parents.
Parading the suspects on Tuesday at the Command’s headquarters in Sokoto, the Gumel revealed that one of the suspects, who is a neighbour of the victim, invited his accomplice from Jos in Plateau state to carry out the heinous crime in Sokoto.

Also paraded are members of a banditry group terrorising parts of the eastern senatorial district of Sokoto state and another criminal syndicate group that specialised in car theft and snatching.
Recovered from them are three AK-47 riffles with ammunition, Dane guns and other dangerous weapons as well as recovered stolen vehicles and N2.5 million.
The Police Commissioner pledged that the Command would prosecute the suspects in court at the conclusion of the investigation.
