The Katsina State team of the Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC) has stepped out of the State INEC Collation Centre abruptly, rejecting the results announced by the Katsina Local Government Area Electoral Officer.

The State Chairman of the IPAC, Ibrahim Tukur Saude Ingawa who is also the state governorship candidate of the Labour Party in a press briefing on Monday announced that elections were generally conducted hitch-free in every ward and polling unit in the Katsina Local Government Area.

He, however, demanded the immediate cancellation of the election results, adding that, IPAC will not accept the results.

“We know that elections were conducted successfully in each of every ward and polling unit in the Katsina Local Government Area and the state in general without any hindrance.

“We have been waiting for the results since morning, but they brought the results lately which cannot be accepted by us because we know the ruling party in the state and the Collation Officer came to present the result alone to create a problem for the state.

“Even the Safana Local Government Area Collation Electoral Officer was here around 7:00 pm but he run away because we know the party that won the election is not on his own side so that was why he run away to change the result sheet

“So, we are leaving the INEC Presidential Elections Results Collation Centre because we as critical stakeholders can not sign the result sheets which means the election should be changed. We need free and fair elections. There is no electoral officer to come and change any word or figure in the election area.

“So now all the elections should be cancelled in Katsina State, we will not accept it,” he stated.
