No fewer than 30 Youth groups and student bodies have adopted the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Niger State, Umar Bago.
The endorsement came after the Directorate of Youth and Students Campaign Council interactive session with the APC governorship candidate on his policy thrust for the two groups in Minna, the Niger State capital, on Wednesday night.
While addressing the youths, the Director of the Directorate, Comrade Bello Sherrif, described Bago’s manifestos as all-inclusive hence he should be supported to victory in Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections.
Sherrif stated that the APC candidate is physically fit, competent, mentally sound, energetic, capable, dogged, credible, and prepared for the job of governance.
The National President of the National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), Khalid Bababubu, noted that primary and secondary schools lack learning facilities for effective teaching, calling on the situation to the addressed.
He further demanded a 50 percent inclusiveness in government, adding that pervasive youth restiveness and insecurity in the state were due to a lack of job opportunities despite the available human and natural resources.
In his remarks, Bago promised youth and women a 60 percent stake in his administration if elected.
He said his government would institute free education to increase school enrollment in the state while tasking the private sector in the state to give back to society through corporate social responsibility.
