South East Security: Suspected Hoodlums Set High Court Ablaze In Ebonyi

 

Suspected hoodlums have set on fire the state high court in Owutu Edda Community, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ebonyi State police command Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the attack on the high court said details are still sketchy.

However, unconfirmed reports have it that the attackers stormed the court premises in the early hours of Tuesday, and razed the building to the ground.

This attack is the first on any public facility in Ebonyi State since the conclusion of the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections as well as the governorship and state houses of assembly polls across the country.

Meanwhile, gunmen have in the past attacked public facilities including police stations, court premises and others leading to the destruction of lives and properties in Ebonyi State.
