The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, says there will be no room for those intending to disrupt the November 11, 2023 Governorship Elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states.
General Musa, while speaking to reporters at a one-day work visit to commission some internal projects at the Headquarters of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, assured the people that the Nigeria Police Force will be assisted to ensure that citizens in those states can vote without fear of any possible disturbances.
He affirmed that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed to ensuring that lives and properties of citizens are adequately secured before, during and after the forthcoming poll in the three states.
The defence chief was earlier taken round some of completed projects sites for commissioning which include 46 Engineers Brigade Counter Improvised Explosives Device Squadron Complex, 29 Battalion Newly Constructed Magazine and the Support Engineer Regiment Corporal and Below Quarters.
To contribute to the enhancement of the 6 Division Bio – Diversity efforts, the defence chief planted a tree.
He was taken round the project sites by the General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army/ Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation Delta Safe, Major General Jamal Abdussalam.
This is his first official visit to the 6 Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt since after his appointment as Chief of Defense Staff by the President.
