The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo State has responded to the Labour Party’s allegations of its refusal to issue Certified True Copies of materials deployed for the November 11 governorship election, saying it would work to fulfil the request accordingly.

“Management clearly understands the right of parties to request for CTC of documents and would work assiduously to issue them,” the commission said in a statement on X, formerly Twitter.

Acknowledging receipt of the LP’s application for the certification of documents, INEC said it had held active correspondence with the party, informing its representatives that the legal department would estimate the cost of the certification of all 33 items requested.

“The Commission is assembling all the needed documents to assess the cost so that payment could be made,” it added.
