The administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has presented its achievements in office in the last year.
In a news conference in Osogbo, the capital, to mark the first anniversary in office, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Kolapo Alimi presented the various programmes and projects executed and those ongoing in the various sectors in the last year.
“Mr governor has a 5-point agenda he has vigorously implemented the 5-point agenda is split into annual plans across the sectors,” he said on Monday.
“We are happy to report that Mr. Governor has delivered on the first-year plan in line with our review he has surpassed the target.”
According to him, in the road sector, the administration reconstructed 90 km of road network with another 45 km ongoing.
In the education sector, 31 schools were rehabilitated, with another 31 in the pipeline.
The administration also built 323 water projects and four water schemes under rehabilitation.
Mr Alimi noted that in the health sector, the Imole Medical Outreach had carried out immediate surgeries with over 50,000 beneficiaries so far. He added that 45 health centres have also been rehabilitated.
The Information Commissioner also said the Adeleke administration has introduced a digital economy with a new ICT and technology innovation policy.
Pension and half salary arrears owed by past administrations, running into billions of naira have been cleared, while the administration is also repositioning the tourism sector, he said.
Alimi stated that all the projects were executed in one year without borrowing.
