Tudun Biri Community Denies Filing N33bn Law Suit Against FG

The Community's spokesperson said the victims and members of the community are impressed with the level of response and support so far shown by both the federal and Kaduna State governments.

The Tudun Biri community has denied filing a suit against the Federal Government demanding N33bn compensation for victims of the December 3 accidental bombing by the Nigerian Army.

There were media reports that the community which lost over 80 persons and several others injured in the unfortunate incident had sued the Federal Government.

Denying the report, the Chief Imam of the community, Hashim Jafaru, said the victims and members of the community are impressed with the level of response and support so far shown by both the federal and Kaduna State governments.

Jafaru, who was speaking during a meeting with Governor Uba Sani at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House on Wednesday, asked the government to fish out those behind the so called lawsuit with a view to avert some conflict merchants from using the Tudun Biri incident to advance their selfish agenda.

He, however, appealed to the Federal Government to consider giving employment to the youths of the community in addition to the promise of rebuilding the community

While commending the residents of Tudun Biri community for remaining law-abiding and patient in the aftermath of the military airstrike, Governor Sani directed security agencies to fish out those behind the suit against the Federal Government.

He noted that his administration will not tolerate any group using the unfortunate Tudun Biri bombing incident to cause tension in the state.
