Corps Member, One Other Die In Katsina Auto Crash

The corps member died while on her way for the monthly biometric clearance.

Katsina State is in northwest Nigeria.

A corps member serving at the Government Girls’ College, Katsina, Mamudo Sa’idu Obaje, has died in a motor accident at Gayaza in the Kankia Local Government Area of the state.

The deceased along with one other passenger were said to have reached their early graves on Thursday, 4th January, 2024 while on transit from Kaduna to Katsina.

Obaje with NYSC Service Number: KT/23B/1153 was heading for the monthly biometric clearance.

While the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) family nationwide has been thrown into mourning from this tragic incident, the Katsina State NYSC Management in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Public Relations Officer, Eddy Megwa, commiserated with the family of the deceased corps member over the loss of the gallant patriot who died while in active service to his fatherland.

The NYSC spokesman, however, dispelled rumours that bandits killed the corps members.

“From all indications, the story is untrue, but a figment of the baseless imagination of the mischievous writer, who wanted to cause unnecessary unrest among members of the public,” the statement added.

“The NYSC therefore, wishes to once again call on bloggers to always be factual in their reportage in order not to cause unnecessary apprehension in the society, because of fictitious and unprofessional publications, which contradicts the ethics of good journalism.”
