Police Debunk Rumours of Food Truck Attack, Looting In Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has reacted to a video spreading across various social media platforms concerning an alleged attack and looting of a food truck allegedly in the state.

The command stated categorically, that these rumours are entirely false and unsubstantiated, adding that, dissemination of such baseless rumours is not only mischievous but also detrimental to the peace and security of the society.

The command in a statement on Friday signed by the Police Spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, urged the public to refrain from spreading false information that can cause unnecessary panic and fear among citizens of the state and the country at large.

“The CP therefore assures members of the general public of the Command’s commitment to upholding law and order and will not hesitate to take appropriate action against those who attempt to spread misinformation for malicious purposes.

“He further encourages the general public to rely on official sources of information and refrain from sharing unverified news that can lead to unwarranted fear and anxiety among citizens,” he added.
