Police Arrest Eight Suspects Over Murder Of UNIMAID Lecturer

 

 

Following the murder of a lecturer of the Physical and Health Education Department at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Abdulkadir Kamal, the Borno State Police Command has arrested eight suspects in connection with the crime. 

The command’s spokesperson, Kenneth Nahun, confirmed the arrested to Channels Television over the phone.

Although the police spokesperson did not disclose if those arrested were students, it was suspected the lecturer was murdered based on his position as the examination officer for the department.

According to the police spokesperson, the university chief security officer filed a complaint that a dead body was found on Sunday.

The police from Gwange Division of the command were deployed to the scene of the incident and subsequently arrested the said suspects while investigations hav been activated to unravel the murderers and cause of the killing.

The police spokesperson said the lecturer was stabbed multiple times with knives and daggers, leaving him in the pool of his blood before he died.

Also, a spokesperson for the university, Danjuma Gambo, said the university has granted permission for the police to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the murder and fish out the perpetrators.
