A former National Vice Chairman, North-West of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has called on President Bola Tinubu and other party leaders to revisit issues surrounding the disagreement between two former governors of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Ganduje.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Lukman warned that on no account should APC leaders limit the engagement of issues surrounding all the political challenges facing APC as a party to only the issue of bribery allegation against Ganduje.
According to Lukman, President Tinubu and APC leaders must consider this as an opportunity of strengthening the APC in Kano State and by extension North West and the entire North.
The former National Vice Chairman added that President Tinubu and APC must take the full advantage of the current reality to renegotiate the support base of the APC by reigniting the progressive credentials of the APC.
On the corruption allegation against Ganduje, the former Director General of Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) said, “Without doubt, this situation presents an opportunity for President Asiwaju Tinubu to demonstrate his progressive and political dexterity.”
Last June, Ganduje and Kwankwaso took turns to meet with the President at the Aso Rock but moves by Tinubu to reconcile the feuding parties failed.
