Major General Cecil Esekhaigbe says there must be a blend of approaches to counter-terrorism.
He said that relying on military isolation alone won’t take the nation to its desired goal against terrorism.
Speaking on the Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s breakfast show The Morning Brief, in response to the multiple bomb attacks in Borno State some days back, he stated that though the military has achieved outstanding results in countering insurgency and terrorism, there must be a blend of military and nonmilitary approach.
This, he said, should be coupled with technology-driven intelligence to get results for modern challenges.
“There must be proper governance in all areas that have been liberated,” the retired general added.
According to him, if there is a gap, there will be regrouping by the insurgents.
