Nigerian Delegation Visits CATL To Explore Partnership For Renewable Energy Zone

The delegation expressed excitement about the prospect of having CATL, which supplies major companies like Tesla and BMW, as a partner.


 

A delegation led by the Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, Chief Ajuri Ngelale visited the Global Headquarters of CATL, the world’s largest EV battery manufacturer, in Ningde, China early Wednesday, as part of a pivotal move for Nigeria’s renewable energy ambitions

The delegation, which included Nasarawa State Governor H.E. Abdullahi Sule and Dr. Lazarus Angbazo, MD/CEO of the Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp), toured CATL’s advanced production facilities. They observed the company’s automated production lines and discussed potential collaborations.

Following the tour, the team met with CATL’s Executive Management to outline the progress of Nigeria’s Evergreen City, a renewable energy technology manufacturing zone.

Chief Ajuri asserted that CATL presented tailored solutions and financing options to meet the zone’s unique needs. Governor Sule highlighted local policy support, while the delegation engaged in detailed discussions about integrating CATL’s technology with the zone’s objectives.
