The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council, Niger State Axis, has officially distanced itself from a planned protest set to happen from August 1st to 10th.
At a press briefing in Minna, the capital of Niger State on Friday, the Chairman of NANS, Niger Axis, Salihu Yusuf, declared their decision to abstain from the protest, emphasising their preference for resolving issues through dialogue rather than demonstrations.
“We categorically and unequivocally distance ourselves and the entire student community in Niger State from the planned protest,” Yusuf said.

He also praised the achievements of Governor Mohammed Bago, highlighting significant progress in infrastructure development, security, agriculture, health, and education, including scholarship schemes for students.
The NANS leader expressed concern over alleged plans by hoodlums to exploit the protest to loot and destroy property, urging caution and the need to prevent such potential consequences.
